Not true. In fact, friends can ruin your pickup attempts faster than Hussein Bolt’s sprinting. The only purpose in having a friend around is to feel more comfortable in social settings, and to look like you actually have friends. A woman of interest will always judge you by the quality of your friends, and if your friend is a jerk, or just plain stupid then she might automatically ask herself why you’re hanging out with him? If you want a wingman, then choose him wisely. Being alone isn’t the end of the world as long as you are confident and comfortable.
Plan what you’re going to say ahead of time:
Nope. This is terrible advice. Pickup lines are cheesy and fake. A natural conversation is much more enjoyable than something that sounds like it’s been rehearsed before. Your best opener is always a simple “Hello” followed by a compliment or something about the common situation in the place where you’re meeting.
Buying her time:
A lot of men approach women with offers such as buying her a drink, or providing her with something you know she wants like a ride. This tactic might break the ice but it makes a woman view you in the entirely wrong light. If you give too much too soon, she’s just going to see you as someone she can exploit. Don’t make the first thing you say to her, “Can I buy you a drink?” She’s more likely to take the drink and run. Think of something original to open with, then after a few minutes, you can offer a drink to continue the conversation.
